Help Support the Echo Chalet
Firefighter GoFund Me: https://gofund.me/f207c438
***UPDATE - WAY TO GO!! We have far exceeded our expectations. Thank you all who have donated and those who will donate in the future. The Echo Lake Association Board of Directors hit a snag with the additional support fund for first responders, local Echo hero's and others who were instrumental for keeping us informed during the fire. The desire had been to set it up in ELEF’s name but unfortunately their 501C(3) status is not current. In the meantime, this additional GoFund Me has been created, tinyurl.com/EchoFireRelief. Once again, BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS SO SUCCESSFUL!!***
The Cause:
Please help support the Echo Chalet! The Echo Chalet has been severely impacted by the Caldor Fire. They are currently expending resources by boating firefighters across the lake to help save the cabins and put out spot fires. They have lost business for two of the busiest weeks of the year with significant inventory that is now smoke damaged and food that has spoiled. This comes on the heels of a previous dismal year because of COVID. In addition, they are delayed on preparing the boats for winter storage. They have minimal resources as a majority of the Staff has departed. Given all the Chalet and the Fashinells have done for us over the decades, now is our chance to help show them our love and appreciation by supporting them in this critical time of need.
The Background:
I was fortunate enough to marry into one of the Cabins and have been coming to Echo for the past ten years. My husband's family, The Reinke's, have owned it since the early 50's and our son, Baylor, is a 4th generation Laker. We're so lucky that we can continue to share it with our son. It is hands down my husband's favorite place on Earth and his first visit was when he was only 3 weeks old. His love for Echo has only grown over the years and he currently resides as VP on the Echo Lakes Association Board. We have one of the cabins in Mermaid Cove and try to spend every other weekend up there in the summer. We hike in and celebrate each New Year's Eve at the cabin. The Chalet has served us well over the years by providing us with endless ice cream, great apparel, and last minute items to host a HappyHour. They go above and beyond helping all of those who use the lake or merely travel past on the PCT.
