Hi y’all! Most of you will recognize me as Katelyns best friend! But I’m also aunt Lizzy to this sweet, sassy girl! Over the last three weeks Finley developed a fever, strep throat and some stomach pain. After a few doctor’s visits Katelyn and Ryan found out that she had a tear in her appendix. The hospital in the quad cities determined her care would be handled better in Iowa city. Once Finley arrived it was time to figure out the best game plan to get Finley back to playing with her brother and back to her friends at school. Finley developed an abscess from the rupture of her appendix the doctors were unable to see a clear field to remove the appendix and determined that a drain would be the best start. After a week Finley wasn’t eating and getting the nutrients her body needed so a pic line was inserted. At this point she had her second surgery. After this an ultrasound and ct scan determined that she developed two more abscesses and needed her third surgery. Finley had her third surgery today with the hope it will help clear things up after the infection is cleared up enough she will have one more surgery to remove the appendix. At this point Katelyn has missed 3 weeks of work and Ryan has had to take multiple days off so they can be with Finley or home with their son. Katelyn and Ryan aren’t the type of people to ask for anything and try to do it on their own. After being without work and having to drive back and forth and buying meals while in Iowa city. Helping donate to the Cameron’s will ensure that Ryan can go back and forth and that during this time neither of them will be financially stressed and able to focus on Finley and her health.
