On Friday, July 25th, Albert, our dad, suffered a horrific heart attack. CPR was performed, and he was shocked 6 times but was unable to be brought back. They transported him to Legacy Salmon Creek. Due to this, his organs were without oxygen for an hour, and his heart suffered severe damage. They said that his heart attack was so big that his heart was very close to exploding. The cardiologist placed stents and added a propeller to help the heart do its work when he performed his heart surgery in the early morning of Saturday. They life-flighted him to Emanuel Hospital Saturday evening where he is now in a specialized cardiac ICU. They have been amazing at explaining and helping us through this time, especially our mom.
We still have a very long road to go. Unfortunately, we don't know what the outcome will be right now as doctors can't tell us what his brain function, if any, will be returned. We are taking this day by day and sometimes hour by hour. They are keeping him heavily sedated to be able to let his body and organs heal, and when we get to the point, they will reduce the sedation to wake him up. We don't know when that will be. Our dad is fairly healthy, fit, and only 54 years old, so this is very unexpected. He is in the ICU, and we don't really have a timeline as of yet, but we will update as soon as we can. We really appreciate all the help, prayers, and support in many ways. This has been incredibly difficult for our family. We are setting this up to take the burden off of bills, gas, and food during this time. Albert is the sole income for them, and we want mom to be able to stay and focus on him at this time. Unfortunately, it will be a long road, so any help is very much appreciated. We love everyone and please keep praying and checking in. Thank you.
