Help support the Blooms after mom tore a ligament falling

Hello! We are the Blooms; Sarah Rose, Michael and our 10 month old Lyra. After a tough start and a bumpy ride down the stairs (I fell) our little family needs some help.
Back in September our daughter was born with a Congenital Heart Defect known as TGA. This required a month long PICU stay and open heart surgery at 2 weeks old. It was hard but with a lot of effort and support we made it through that hospital stay. Though, we are still in the process of paying the medical bills from that experience.
Then on the weekend of my first Mother’s Day my car died. The weeks long trade in process was a series of miscommunications that left me with a higher car payment on a car the same age as the one I lost. And a week after owning that new car, it needed a replacement of the catalytic converter. Which they only found after bringing it back to the dealership twice for cylinders misfiring. And still we were persevering.
Then in the second week of July, after putting Lyra down for bed, I had the unfortunate experience of falling down the stairs and landing on my right foot. After almost two full years in our house, the stairs finally got me… As a result of this fall I have fully torn the ligament in the top of my foot, also known as a Lisfranc injury. This type of injury more than likely will require surgery, as well as a lengthy recovery period and physical therapy. There’s a very real chance that Lyra will be taking her first steps before I am back on my feet. Until then I am not able to bear weight. I am in constant pain that gets worse whenever I have to be up and moving around. Which thankfully because of my loving and supportive husband is not often.
As a preschool teacher things like being able to walk, jump, dance and sit crisscross-applesauce are important. So I have been unable to work. Unable to drive. And just really limited in ways that I have been able to help in my own household. I’ve come to the point where I have exhausted my paid-sick/vacation hours. And because this injury is so soon after my maternity leave I am unable to file anything with CT Paid Leave.
Between the mortgage, car payments, Lyra’s medical bills, my medical bills, and the general cost of living we are quickly coming to the end of our savings. And honestly right now anything you can give will help our family make it to the end of 2025.
