Hi, everyone. I'm Marcie, Kiki's big sister! My sweet sister has looked forward to being pregnant for quite a while. Little did she expect the journey pregnancy would take her on. Kiki was hospitalized on 6/11/21 for pre-enclampsia at only 26 weeks pregnant. I'm forever grateful that she advocated for herself and pursued medical help for some concerning symptoms. Due to the pre-enclampsia, her team of doctors recommended that Kiki remain in the hospital for monitoring until she reaches 34 weeks gestation. At that point, they anticipate they will be delivering Kiki and Kyle's daughter, Finley. Early delivery will be for Kiki's safety as well as Finley's health. Finley is stable and healthy but has been measuring on the small side, around 15th percentile for growth. Delivery at 34 weeks will likely place Finley in NICU as well. As a result of all of this, Kiki is currently on FMLA. The uncertain nature of what is to come is providing a lot of stress on Kiki and Kyle. Financial stress is just not something I want Kiki to be worrying with in the least right now. With lost wages, the weight of future bills, mortgage, medical expenses, and so forth will compound quickly.
