Hello friends and family of Jeni, Nile, and baby Abbie!
They always tell you that having babies ain’t easy but man Jeni and Nile have had it rough! As you may know, after an already difficult first 5+ weeks due to spitting up and being unable to put on any weight, Abbie’s pediatrician (thankfully!) found a heart murmur which quickly led to her being diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta. As Jenifer calls it, “Basically a narrowing in part of the aorta and may have contributed to her eating issues and weight loss.”
She was rushed to UCSF that night for a surgery on her aorta the next day where they say everything went well! She is still in the Cardiac ICU for at least a few more days due to her blood pressure and feeding issues, which seem to be slowly improving!
its early stages yet and we don’t know the extent to the kind of care and recovery this will take. I know there are so many people like me who want to help and support them but don’t know how (especially now when visitors aren’t the best thing due to the ICU).
I’ve spoken with Jeni about their needs right now and they include gas, parking in SF, and meals. Contributions would also go towards loss of wages so they can stay together as long as possible without the worry. We don’t know what kind of medical bills they may have to deal with yet, this is just a start to help relieve some of the current burden.
Also, if instead of a donation you would like to have a meal sent to Jeni and Nile at the hospital, feel free to Message me here or on Facebook and I can help arrange delivery with them!
XO
Kelly
