While Alexa and Mitch are incredibly thankful to have the insurance that they have & having not to over-stress about covering medical expenses, the “other” expenses have added up steeply in the past month & will continue to do so through treatment. Having surgery (and all the appointments that precede & follow) conducted in Ann Arbor has resulted in sudden & growing travel expenses. Other expenses related to being prepared for risks of the surgery and diagnosis have added up. The support surrounding Alexa and her family on this journey is so strong and she feels it deeply. This funding to help with all the “other” expenses that insurance doesn’t touch is just a way to alleviate one piece of stress in their lives right now.
