The Angstadt Family

On Friday morning, shortly after the boys left for school, Kurt embarked on a pre-weekend bike ride. What should have been a three-hour training session, ended abruptly when he was hit by a car, head on, just 15 minutes into the ride.

Kurt was initially taken to Paoli emergency and was in the OR and ICU there, and on Saturday evening was air lifted to Lankenau. While they assess and heal his injuries, which include broken ribs, bruised and punctured lungs, facial fractures, compound break in his lower leg, fractured pelvis (the list goes on), he is sedated and paralyzed (medically induced) to manage the pain associated with a poly-trauma accident. They are working to stabilize Kurt for surgery for his fractured pelvis and broken leg.

If you know Kurt, you know that his world revolves around his family, his clients and his passion for fitness. Having completed IronMan races, countless triathlons (including a first place finish for his age group just two weeks ago), and his own soccer career; Kurt is always on the go with the goal of bettering himself and his family. He carries this passion on the field as both a coach, and Kalen and Kyle’s #1 cheerleader. At home and in his career he’s never shy to share motivation and support whenever it is needed, especially to his amazing wife, Katie.
