Hi everyone! Welcome to Tessa's GoFundme page. I know many of you are familiar with Tessa's story, but if you are new here, here is a quick rundown of where we are at with her cancer journey:

In August 2019, at age 28, Tessa was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Adenocarcinoma. In Layman's terms: colon cancer has metastasized/spread (in Tessa's case, to her liver.)

Since then, Tessa has had a colon resection, two liver resections, a clinical trial, chemotherapy, and laser ablation. Her current trouble zone has and continues to be reoccurring cancer in her liver.

In May of this year, Tessa was preparing to get a liver transplant (with the help of our Mom) and had to run through multiple tests, including a full-body CT and PET scan. Unfortunately, the scan showed the cancer had spread from her liver to her lungs and cardiophrenic and celiac axis lymph nodes. Because of these results, the liver transplant is now off the table.

As of June 2022, Tessa is back on chemo and scheduled for lung surgery on July 7th to remove the spots on her lung. After she recovers from surgery, she will go back on combination radiation and chemo until September. She will then get a new CT/PET scan to assess her progress. Her doctors will devise a game plan for the next steps based on her scan results. We're confident that these surgeries and treatments will get her on the right track as her cancer is very receptive to chemotherapy.

At this time, we are humbly asking for your financial support. Although Tessa is fortunate to have great medical insurance, there are limitations to what insurance covers after three years. The donations will be used in the days, weeks, and months ahead to cover medical expenses, copays, prescriptions, transportation, and comfort and care supplies. As many before us facing unexpected medical conditions may understand, the unforeseen out-of-pocket expenses combined with a lack of income can be a financial and emotional burden to even the most prepared families.
