My name is Teri, and we are a family of seven including my husband Kevin and five kids, Kayela, Kyle, TJ, Brendan, and Zac. Only Zac is still at home. My older children are living their lives, they help out when they can. My mother, Judy lives with us also. When my father passed away we had her move in so she wasn't alone.

We are reaching out during this incredibly challenging time for our family. Recently, we found out that my Metastatic Breast Cancer has mutated to Triple Negative, and now I have multiple liver lesions, new bone lesions, more soft tissue and skin lesions, which are the most painful. I now have to go to get chemotherapy weekly. My husband goes to all doctor and chemo days, which has affected his work hours. It has gotten to the point I can't go to doctor appointments by myself because I will forget what was said. (Chemo brain is real), and I cannot go to chemo appointments by myself as they make me incredibly nauseous. I get Benadryl and Nausea medication, both of which makes me very tired. I have been battling this metastatic cancer since July of 2021, we are painfully aware that I am living on borrowed time, which is running short.

I have done everything I can to fight this, I still have an 11 yr old at home who needs me and two grandsons I want to watch grow up. I have a whole family that needs me.

I had to stop working as an RN in May of 2022. (Major loss of income) I have done chemotherapy. I have done physical therapy to help with the Lymphedema that has affected my arm, chest, and back. I have had two major surgeries, one was a double mastectomy the other was a lymph node bypass to help relieve the pain and swelling in my arm, chest, and back. Radiation to help shrink the skin and soft tissue masses that affect my chest, back, arms, and breasts. I've had and followed up on referrals to countless doctors that my oncologist felt could help.

I have done everything possible but to no avail. So my lymphedema has limited the use of my arm. I have blood clots in my upper arm and internal jugular. The radiation has left me with small pockets of fluid on both my lungs and pneumonitis of both lungs. In general, I can't do all that I used to. I get short of breath just walking. This has been so hard, especially on my 11yr old.

I worked as a bedside hospital RN for close to 20 yrs and my inability to work has placed a tremendous financial burden on my family. My husband works, he even works overtime, though he misses work hours on chemo days. (He's paid hourly). We are faced with mounting medical bills, ongoing co-pays, medications and the occasional ER visit. Now, we have vehicle expenses and the everyday costs of supporting our family. My meager savings account is now empty. I had no 401k (I always told myself maybe next year). I only have one credit card which is now maxed out.

We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help cover these expenses and support my ongoing treatments, medications and scans. It is to help with the thousands in medical bills and medication. And to help with everyday expenses. And, the reality is, to help with end of life expenses.
