We are the daughters of an incredible, courageous woman named Teresa. In September, our world was turned upside down when she went to the doctor for what she thought was a simple case of kidney stones. During the routine scan, doctors discovered a concerning, peach-sized tumor in her right lung. Further tests revealed a diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer, adenocarcinoma, at stage 3b. The tumor is located in her right lung and has spread to three sets of lymph nodes in her bronchial tube. Despite this devastating news, our mom, Teresa, is facing this challenge with incredible hope, faith, strength, and determination. Our mom continues to be a beacon of light as our family navigates how to best support her for the best outcome.

Over the past two months, Teresa has undergone numerous tests, scans, and consultations to explore treatment options. Recently, she and Sara, traveled to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona for a second opinion. We're relieved and grateful that Intermountain Health has agreed to collaborate with Mayo Clinic, allowing Teresa to receive her treatment here in Billings. However, the treatment plan is aggressive and will be incredibly tough on her body. She will undergo six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. If her body responds well, she will continue with a year of immunotherapy to give her the best chance at beating this disease.

While we are optimistic about her treatment, the next few months will be incredibly difficult for our mom. Chemotherapy and radiation will take a significant toll on her energy, immune system, and overall well-being, making it impossible for her to continue working full-time. As the sole provider for her family, including her husband, two dogs, a cat, and a handful of chickens, this means there will be a major financial strain. Teresa has always been the rock of her family, working tirelessly to provide for us, but now she needs our help.
