Help Support Tennille through Breast Cancer

Donation protected
In December 2015, Tennille was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. She went through intense chemotherapy and multiple surgeries to remove and reconstruct her breast. Her road to recovery was long and the effects of Chemo continue to impact her daily life, yet she continues to stay positive and greet others with a smile.

This summer, she marked 5 years of being cancer free by joining the Susan G Komen 3 Day in Dallas, Tx. She completed the walk also in remembrance of our mom who lost her fight to cancer. It's hard to imagine the overwhelming feeling of being surrounded by other survivors or those walking 60 miles on behalf of someone they lost. Tennille's experience was emotional, challenging and heartwarming.

Just a few weeks ago, Tennille discovered another lump in her breast. The doctors moved fast to get her in to determine if the cancer was back. They seemed confident the last time they would never see her again. Unfortunately, the results came back as Stage III invasive breast carcinoma, almost exactly 7 years to the date of the first diagnosis. A team of doctors quickly rallied to lay out the proper treatment for Tennille's unusual type of cancer this time.

December 28th starts the first surgery to put a port in place. She then starts Chemo treatments on January 2nd. Over the course of 18 weeks, she will receive 6 intense chemo treatments. With the chemo, she will need an echogram done before and after receiving chemo to ensure it does not create damage to her heart. To combat neuropathy, she will have her hands and feet in an ice bath during the infusions. Days 4-10 carry the greatest risk of side effects which could make working difficult. Once the chemo is done, they will move on to surgery to remove her implants and remaining cancer. If her body does not tolerate the chemo well, they will move directly to surgery. From there she will move to radiation since she carries the PR negative, EST negative and Her2 positive receptors that could cause cancer to come back.

Tennille and Jerry are both self-employed and run businesses that are vital to the community. Unfortunately, both of these businesses (hair salon and gym) had a direct impact as a result of Covid closures. With the devastating news that the cancer has come back, there will likely be times when Tennille and Jerry will be unable to work due to her treatments and needed care, in addition to an increased amount of medical bills. Unfortunately, that means reduced income during a time when it is critically needed.

If you are able to donate to Tennille and her family it would be appreciated beyond words. Tennille does so much for everyone else, this is our chance to show her we stand behind her and she is not in this battle alone! Thank you so much in advance! Much love to you all!
