Support Tenisha as She Cares for Her Mother

Hi, my name is Tenisha. I have recently become my mother’s full-time caregiver as her health has declined due to cancer spreading and her dementia worsening. She now requires 24-hour care, which has greatly impacted my ability to work and provide for my household. As a single mother working full-time, balancing my job while ensuring my mom receives the care she needs has been incredibly difficult.

She is currently receiving at-home hospice care, and we have a caregiver who assists during the week. However, her needs go beyond what can be covered at this time and I have taken FMLA leave from my job to be more available for mom and her needs.

The past month has been especially challenging, as my income has been greatly affected due to my limited availability. Now I am reaching out for support to help cover ongoing living expenses for me and my daughter during this difficult time.
