Help Support Teacher Jan, A Beloved Soul Facing Cancer

A Legacy of Love, A Life of Selfless Strength-

My name is Alexis Engdahl, and I’m the nurse consultant for Kiddy Karousel Daycare. I’m organizing this tribute and fundraiser for someone who has meant so much to so many: Teacher Jan Fatticci.

Jan Fatticci has been a devoted part of Kiddy Karousel since 1984, pouring her heart into every child she’s cared for. For over 40 years, she has helped raise generations of children in our community, including my own. She is the lead teacher in Toddler 2 room and is known to all as a calming, dependable, and joyful presence.

Despite a recent diagnosis of metastatic renal cancer, Jan continues to come to work each day. Her love for the children and her commitment to her work are unwavering. Even while undergoing chemotherapy, she shows up with a smile, giving her best to those around her. This is not her first battle with cancer, and just like before, she faces it with quiet strength and courage.

Jan is selfless. She never asks for anything and always puts others first. Her life reflects deep values of family, faith, and love. She enjoys the outdoors, time with family and friends, old movies, and following her grandchildren’s activities. She also has a cherished collection of Willow Tree angels. Holidays like Easter and May Day are her favorites, full of meaning and joy.

She has three children and four grandchildren and has been married to Patrick for 55 years. Her love for them is evident in everything she does. If Jan ever won the lottery, her dream would be to care for her family, build a handicapped-accessible home for her husband, and create a new gym and expanded playground for the daycare she loves so dearly.

When news of her diagnosis began to spread, so many people reached out asking how they could help. This fundraiser is an opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much. All funds will go directly to Jan to help ease the financial burden during this challenging time.

Jan’s favorite foods are Chinese and Italian, and she enjoys watching Law & Order and The Star Is Born series. But what truly defines her is her unwavering spirit, lifelong devotion to others, and the love she gives so freely.
