Help support Tami Sulistyo in her cancer battle.

Tami was diagnosed with ocular melanoma (eye cancer) in October 2018. There is no known cause for this rare cancer. Radiation Plaque Brachytherapy took care of the eye tumor, but the biopsy showed high risk for the cancer metastasizing. A liver biopsy in July 2020 of two small tumors in her liver confirmed metastatic uveal melanoma (MUM) for which there is no cure. However, there are treatments and trial options aimed at stabilizing tumor growth and spread, and in August 2020, Tami began a series of treatments from top doctors for MUM that would take her to Philadelphia and weekly drives to Iowa City.

The liver tumors stabilized but then spread to her abdominal lining and tailbone. In March 2022, Tami began receiving monthly immunotherapy infusions in Miami. Recently, she also returned from Philadelphia as they try meds to stabilize the abdomen.

While she will joke that it's a good thing she likes to travel, all has come at a high cost - both in terms of time and finances. During these last four years, Tami has remained upbeat and hopeful. She has been such a graceful example as she continues to lead and care for others even while she herself is going through so much.

And, it is now that we are asking for your help. We would love to care for Tami as a community by sharing with her financially, encouraging her with words, and walking beside her. Please give what you can and know that every bit of the burden shouldered by friends brings her hope. A favorite saying of Tami's sums up who Tami is - "Life is good. The answer is love." Yes! We love you, Tami.

These funds will go towards naturopathic, experimental, and innovative treatments and the cost of obtaining them and traveling for them.
