After finally tying the knot at a gorgeous wedding, Matthew & Talia Mischuk embarked on their honeymoon in Punta Cana, DR. 24 hours later, their situation changed dramatically when Talia's left lung spontaneously collapsed and she was rushed to the local hospital.

Unfortunately, she was left in her current condition for 8 hours while the hospital and insurance company negotiated payment, until the situation became too dangerous to wait any longer. A chest tube was placed, but Talia's lung never reinflated the entire way. After much debate about whether a medical flight home would be the best option, it was determined that she needed to be immediately transferred by ambulance to a bigger hospital in Santo Domingo 2.5 hours away.

This is NOT the honeymoon that any newlywed couple deserve! We are so incredibly grateful for all the prayers, calls, and texts of concern and encouragement we have gotten. People all over the world are praying for her and it is helping immensely. Many of you have asked if there will be a way to donate to their current expenses while in Dominican, as well as donate to a "re-do" honeymoon for them, so we have set up this gofundme account in their honour.
