Sigma Chi's Lambda Epsilon Chapter at the University of New Haven would like you to help us support brother Logan and his extremely deserving family, as they try and navigate through this emotionally and financially difficult time.
Susan Dobert's Story:
At the beginning of June Sue was admitted to the hospital with a bone infection that required the amputation of one of her toes. This hospital stay was then complicated by another infection that required exploratory surgery and ultimately a diagnosis of flesh eating bacteria. Because of this, she has required many subsequent surgeries to ensure all of the dead tissue was removed, and skin grafting to an extensive portion of her lower leg. Along with this, she has been bed ridden and developed pressure ulcers from her prolonged immobility. After her discharge from the hospital, she will require an extended rehab stay to learn how to walk again, after being immobile for the majority of 4 months.
During the entirety of this medical venture, her husband and three children have remained supportive. Her husband has modified his work schedule so he can remain by her side during the week, while her children and friends visit her on the weekends so that her husband can go to work. With his decrease in hours and Sue out on disability, and hospital bills beginning to flow in, money has become tight. The family remains optimistic that Sue will be home soon. We thank you for all of your love and support during this difficult time.
