On March 20, a massive flash flood swept through Haleiwa and Waialua, leaving devastation in its wake. Among those hardest hit were John and his ohana, the heart and soul behind Surf n Salsa, a beloved local taco truck. In just a few hours, their entire business was destroyed—kitchen equipment, outdoor refrigerators, fresh produce, meats, tables, chairs, and even the gravel and plants that made their spot special were all lost to the floodwaters. The damage to the trailer, floors, walls, and roof was overwhelming, and all their inventory was ruined by water and rot.
Despite this heartbreaking loss, their first thought was for their community. As soon as they could, they fired up what equipment they had left and began making hot meals for cleanup volunteers and neighbors affected by the flood. Their generosity and spirit have always been at the center of Surf n Salsa, and now they need our help to rebuild.
Your support will help the Surf n Salsa ohana replace their destroyed equipment, rebuild their taco truck, and cover lost income for themselves and their employees. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping them get back on their feet and continue serving the community they love. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help bring Surf n Salsa back to Haleiwa and Waialua.
