My name is Dayna Cabrera, and on behalf of my parents, siblings, and myself, I am starting this GoFundMe for my sister, Summerlynn Taisague. She is not only a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she is also a dedicated nurse who has spent her career caring for others. Summer has always had a passion for helping people, often putting her own needs aside to ensure her patients and loved ones are treated with kindness and compassion. Now, it’s our turn to care for her.

Recently, Summer received the heartbreaking diagnosis of Stage 3 HER2-positive breast cancer. This type of breast cancer is known to be more aggressive and fast-growing, as the HER2 protein causes cancer cells to multiply more quickly. At Stage 3, the cancer has spread beyond the breast to nearby lymph nodes and tissues, making treatment more complex. Her doctors have outlined a rigorous treatment plan that will include chemotherapy, surgery, and targeted therapies designed to attack the HER2 protein directly.

As a nurse, Summer has stood by countless patients and families during their hardest times. She has been a source of strength, comfort, and healing. Now, she faces her own battle, and we want to make sure she feels the same support she has always given so freely to others.

We understand that everyone is facing their own challenges and hardships.
