Schaumburg Police Auxiliary Officer Mike Reed has been anxiously awaiting a much-needed new kidney. On 7/9/25, Mike finally got the call that a kidney was available and immediately went in for the transplant surgery. While the long-term outlook is positive, Mike will have to be off work for a significant time while he recovers. Mike is a single father and works hard as an SPD Auxiliary Officer to provide extra income to support his teenage son. Unfortunately, as a part-time employee, he will miss out on this much-needed income during his recovery time.
