Hi, my name is Jesi, and I’m the proud auntie of a very sweet, strong 10-year-old girl named Sophia.
On Saturday, October 4th, Sophia was in a terrible accident while playing outside with friends. In a split-second, she accidentally stepped in front of another child who was swinging a bat. The impact caused serious injuries, and she was life-flighted to Austin, Texas for emergency care.
Sophia suffered a concussion, bleeding on her brain, and a hematoma in her eye. She now faces reconstructive surgery on her eye socket, and will need ongoing care and monitoring in the weeks to come.
Her parents, Carlie and Aaron, are doing everything they can to be by her side. The hospital is over an hour from their home, and they are now navigating missed work, travel costs, meals away from home, and the usual household bills — all while helping their daughter through a scary and uncertain time.
To make matters even more heartbreaking, Sophia’s 11th birthday is this month. Her party has been canceled, and it’s likely she will spend her birthday in the hospital.
If you're able to give anything at all, it would mean the world to our entire family. Donations will go directly toward helping Carlie and Aaron cover travel, lodging, lost income, and medical expenses related to Sophia’s recovery.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing this page or sending healing thoughts Sophia’s way. We’re incredibly grateful for your support during this difficult time.
With love and thanks,
Jesi & Sophia’s family
