Hi everybody I’m starting this fundraiser for my girlfriend Sierra. At the end of 2021 during a trip to the Emergency Room it was discovered that Sierra had a tumor pressed up against the very bottom of her spine. After lots of scans and testing it was determined not to be cancerous but was a Ganglioneuroma(a tumor that sprouts from an autonomic nerve). The tumor was the size of a fist and was causing pain and weakness in her back and legs so had to be removed. On 2/22/22 she underwent a 6 hour long surgery at Stanford hospital and is still recovering in the hospital as she regains her confidence in standing and walking.
Because of the location of the tumor they had to remove part of her spine and move surrounding muscles in order to protect that spot in the future. Unfortunately, this leaves her unable to sit for at least 6 weeks which will require the need for medical transport to and from appointments(suture and drain removal), an in home hospital bed, as well as a walker and a variety of specialized nurses to help her gain her strength back. This has all begun to add up really fast and would like to help her out as much as possible so she can focus on her recovery. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and would all go towards getting her home from the hospital and ensuring she has a smooth recovery.
