Help Support Shelby's Battle With Metastatic Breast Cancer

My name is Kaity Calvert and I'm wishing to raise funds for my sister, Shelby Bowes, who has been fighting metastatic breast cancer for 6 years. Shelby was diagnosed in 8/2018 and has been in chemotherapy weekly since 10/2019. Progressions here and there have led to mutliple radiation treatments and changes in treatment plans. She had worked full time as an Art teacher in Toms River, NJ from 2006-2022. However, she will be resigning from her Art teaching position in 11/2024 at Batesville Middle School in Batesville, MS. This would've been her third year teaching Art at Batesville Middle School. Her resignation is due to the progression of her cancer making it more difficult to get through the day. The side effects from not only chemotherapy, but other medications have made it very difficult for her to continue teaching.

Shelby was not able to recieve disability benefits being her cancer dx is a preexisting condition. This has left Shelby and her immediate family with a loss of her income for months following. I'm hoping to raise enough funds as an ease of stress from her her and her family as they face this struggle in the months to come.

Shelby lives with her husband Josh, and their two sons, Joshua (10) and Trapp (6).

I know Shelby is looking forward to being home where she can not only recover from her illness, but also spend more time with her family.

She believes that the Lord is in full control of her path and has blessed her with the best community of friends and co-workers. She truly believes it is only He who is responsible for the great life she's still able to experience. Please consider donating funds to my sister so she can rest easy in the upcoming months.
