Help Support Shawn Kennedy

Hello Friends and Family! This is Merz (Kim), Shawn's sister. On Friday, Shawn was on vacation in Cape Cod and about to go bike riding with Ryan. All of a sudden he realized he could not lift his arm. A quick mirror check revealed to him that he was mostly likely having a stroke. He drove himself to Cape Cod Hospital and they found a brain bleed causing the stroke and affecting the entire left side of his body. The decision was quickly made to Life Flight him to Boston. Kaz (Karen), Owen and I immediately made it to the airport, Mom and Dad hopped in the car and we all made it to the ER of Beth Israel Hospital at about 10 pm that night. Shawn was moved to the surgical ICU as we awaited for more testing and imaging to be done.

Shawn did suffer a Hemorrhagic Stroke on the right side of his brain. He is stable and out of the ICU. We still do not know the exact source or cause of the bleed. We are waiting another week for an angiogram and hoping that the blood has reabsorbed enough to give us some answers. For now, we are all living in Boston and taking care of our Shawn. He has paralysis down the entire left side of his body. After the Dr's determine next steps Shawn will be transferred to an Acute Rehab Center here in Boston for at least two weeks before we can bring him home. Once he is brought home the rehab will continue in Atlanta.

It is going to be a marathon not a sprint, but we are confident that he will make a great recovery. He is Shawn Kennedy after all and we all know this man has an incredible strength and spirit that will keep him working hard until he crosses that finish line!

We are asking for your help for our family as we are living here in Boston for the next month and for the medical expenses he will have. We are living in a hotel and Ubering back and forth to the hospital each day. We will use the funds to help with our living and medical expenses for our family.
