This GoFundeMe is in the aid of funding an emergency heart surgery for Shawn Smith, A 32 year old young Jamaican who was provisionally diagnosed with severe Aortic Sterosis, principal diagnosis being Rheumatic Heart Disease and Bronchial Asthma. He was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever at the age of 8 and stopped receiving treatment at the age of 16 because the doctors felt there was no longer need for treatment. On Tuesday June 18, 2019,Shawn was playing football and collapse, his heart shut down for more than 15minutes. The doctors at the Sav-anna-la-mar hospital gave him 1 Year to live. He was then discharge and sent to the University Of The West Indies Hospital for further care.

His family is unable to fund the cost of a heart surgery that will be the only way for him to get pass this illness. The total cost for the surgery is approximately USD $12,000. This is for the necessary materials for the surgery which will be sourced in America, along with the cost of the surgery.
