Help Us Keep Seattle Strong
Nestlé says that ‘Seattle Strong’ infringes on ‘Seattle's Best,’ a company they acquired in 2022.
We say: ‘Seattle’ is in our name because it’s where we started, and it’s who we are.
We started Seattle Strong Coffee as students at the University of Washington back in 2017. What began as a class project grew into a full-time business—roasting and brewing cold brew coffee right here in Seattle.
Now, the Nestlé corporation, a multinational conglomerate based over 5,000 miles away in Switzerland, is telling us our name infringes on their rights. Apparently, only they can use the name ‘Seattle.’
We don’t think that’s right. So, we’re fighting back.
Why we need your help
Nestle made over $13 billion dollars in profit last year alone. We didn’t. They have teams of lawyers on their staff. We don’t. We’re doing everything we can to keep ‘Seattle’ in our name – the city where we started, where we roast and brew our coffee, and where we live. And we could use your support.
Your donation helps us:
- Cover legal costs to defend our name and trademark
- Keep the name of our company true to the city that shaped it
Want to help?
First, please consider trying our cold brew coffee. See if it's not the best, smoothest cold brew coffee you've ever had.
Then, if you believe we have the right to call our coffee what it’s always been called – Seattle Strong – consider donating.
Let’s keep Seattle Strong.
Thank you.
