Help support Sea Cave keep its employees paid!

Hello Sea Cave Arcade here asking for your help!

Hello my name is Judah Lea and I am the founder of Sea Cave Arcade. I am a born and raised New Orleans native and N.O.C.C.A. graduate. I started Sea Cave six years ago in a small art studio I was sharing with friends. For the past six years it has been my main professional and artistic focus in my life. IN the past six years I have taken on two business partners (Matt Love and Darin Leinbach) and they have helped me allong with many others to make Sea Cave the place you all know and love today up until this fortunate incident.

As some of you know Sea Cave was broken into and vandalized on December 12th 2021. As a result we are temporarily closed and unsure of when we can put our amazing employees back to work as well as getting everyone back to playing games and having fun! If you are interested in a timeline of the  events visit the Times Picayune story here.

As a result of the damages we have to shut down for a little bit to obtain the specialized parts we need. Unfortunately a good portion of the materials damaged are electronic hardware that is no longer in production and becoming exceedingly rare. Things like high resolution CRTs, Arcade quality tube CRTs, 4:3 old vga monitors, even the old tiny tube tvs, most of these are no longer produced on a commercial scale so we have to do a little extra work to find suitable replacements.

We also really value our staff.  Even before what happened on Monday, it has not been an easy time for service industry employees nationwide, much less here in New Orleans where much of our working class resides. We've become a very close knit family of pals here working at Sea Cave, and we want to ensure that everyone who relies on us for their livelihood is well accounted for.

We are asking for your help to ensure our lovely employees can continue to make a living wage while we repair and rebuild as well as asking for your help in covering whatever cost is left after insurance.  Any additional money donated after what we need to bring the Cave back, we will donate a community chosen mutual aid/charity that benefits mental health services. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

If you have any sort of special hardware that you are willing to donate, contact us at 'SeaCaveArcade' on gmail (gofundme seems to not like email links, sorry!)

We are always happy to put more cool things out for you to enjoy. We love y'all and we hope to be back very soon.
