Help me rebuild after devastating MVA and health struggles

Donation protected

Hello everyone,

I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but life has thrown some serious challenges my way, and I’m reaching out in the hope that you might take a moment to hear my story.

A few years ago, I was in a terrible car accident that nearly took my life. I spent weeks in the hospital, battling to recover. While I survived, that accident was just the beginning of a long road of health struggles that have completely changed my life. The trauma led to a cascade of medical issues, and today, I’m facing one of the toughest battles yet.

I have a severely infected diabetic ulcer on the bottom of my big toe, and doctors have told me that amputation is inevitable. However, if I can keep my blood sugars under control, the infection may stop there. If not, I could lose my entire foot—or even my leg up to my knee. Managing my diabetes has been incredibly difficult, especially without reliable transportation to get to my medical appointments, pick up prescriptions, or even access basic necessities.

Beyond my physical health, my mental health has taken a severe hit. Depression has been overwhelming, largely due to my lack of mobility, isolation, and the feeling of being trapped in a situation that feels impossible to escape. I’ve always been an extroverted, social person, but lately, I’ve found myself stuck inside, with little to no interaction or support.

One of the biggest obstacles standing in my way is the lack of reliable transportation. A vehicle would mean everything—it would allow me to make it to my medical appointments, manage my health more effectively, and even work again. Right now, I can do limited gig work (like Instacart) for about four hours a day, per my doctor’s recommendations, but without a car, even that isn’t an option. Once my infection clears, I want to get back to full-time work, but I need the means to get there.

This is not an easy ask for me. I’ve always tried to be independent and have rarely asked for help, but right now, I have no other choice. Unfortunately, the few family members I have left around me aren’t in a position—or don’t seem willing—to help, which has been heartbreaking.

I’m asking for your kindness, your generosity, and your support in helping me get back on my feet—literally. A car would mean stability, independence, and the ability to rebuild my life after years of setbacks. If you’re able to contribute, I would be endlessly grateful. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this with others would mean the world to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support—no matter how big or small—can make a life-changing difference.

With gratitude,
Scott
