Hello All,

This fundraiser is being set up in the hopes of raising some much needed funds for the Staniszewski Family. Sara is a beautiful, young lady who has a medical condition called "Pectus Excavatum". Sara has spent too much time in and out of Doctors Offices this past year trying to get some much needed answers. After a very long road, Sara is scheduled to have surgery on 12/27/24.

Below is information from Jami, Sara's mom.

Over the course of the last year, Sara has spent more time in and out of Dr's offices, hospitals, physical therapy, testing then all my kids have for their whole lives. We have been given different diagnosis (guesses) just because they didn't know.

Finally had enough nothing was making sense and all they wanted to do was add more diseases and medications. I called for an appointment with the main dr in the office and gave a written list of all her complaints. Reminded him she has Pectus Excavatum and she took a hard hit to the chest (not just head) during soccer tryouts last year. He referred her to a pediatric surgeon at All Children's.

We met with him and he listened, took measurements and of course sent for more testing, chest CT & Echo. Chest CT & his measurements confirmed her Pectus Excavatum is severe, the Echo and meeting with cardiologist showed her heart ❤️ is fine, for now. Appt with pulmonary is in January unless surgeon wants her in sooner and makes a call.

Follow up with surgeon had us discussing surgery to repair her Pectus, this is now on the calendar for December 27th. This surgery will insert anywhere between 1 - 3 bars across her rib cage to pop out the ribs to normal. These will stay in at least 2 years. Alleviating pressure on heart and lungs and putting her shoulder back to a normal setting hopefully keeping the from dislocating anymore!! After this procedure and recovery she will be able to get back to a field or court whatever her hearts desire ⚽️

This journey has been emotionally, physically & financially draining. Our family is looking forward to the day when Sara can get back to "normal" and be in her happy place.

No time is a good time for surgery, especially during the holidays. Jami, and Joey will need to be by Sara's side during her hospital stay, and recovery. Meaning time missed from work, travel and lodging expenses, and keeping up with the household bills. Any donation would be greatly appreciated for this deserving family.
