Aloha Friends. This is Michele.

A few weeks after the Lahaina fire, my friend Sarah wasn't feeling well. She went for some tests and found out she had uterine cancer and needed surgery. We were hoping for a positive outcome, but unfortunately the result of the surgery was that the cancer had spread, and Sarah has to undergo treatment for a year. The treatment starts end of February with intense chemotherapy for about 4 months and then maintenance chemo for another 8+ months.

Sarah's friends have decided to start a GoFundMe to offset the costs of being unemployed during chemo and all the costs that are not covered by insurance.

We are staying positive and looking forward to supporting Sarah in fighting this so she can go back to her favorite things such as hiking, being in the ocean and spending time with her Maui Ohana.
