Sarah and George’s love story started a few years ago, after they met through a mutual friend. George was persistent, charming, and patient, and before long, he won Sarah’s heart. George and Sarah are happily married and have two young boys together, ages 3 and 1.
At the end of February 2021, George and Sarah started to notice some changes in George’s speech. He was having a difficult time recalling words. Being a nurse, Sarah insisted that George get evaluated by a medical professional. George’s doctors discovered a tumor growing in his brain. Less than a week after the discovery, George underwent surgery to have the tumor removed. Biopsy results confirmed the tumor was a glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer, stage 4.
George, a Marine veteran, does not have short-term or long-term disability through his work. George’s medical benefits are through Sarah, now the sole-provider for the family, a full-time nurse. She holds a BSN and has been studying to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. In order to have more time to care for her husband and their boys, she will be taking time away from school after completing the last few weeks of the current term.
While George undergoes speech therapy, radiation, chemotherapy, and experimental cancer treatment, Sarah must continue to work in order to maintain their medical benefits
Sarah and George need our help. George is a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, and prayers of any kind are welcome and appreciated. In addition, please donate to this family if you can. There is no dollar amount that will help cure George, but we can help him and Sarah take care of their family. We can help them pay for food, transportation, medical co-payments and deductibles, childcare, and all the usual bills. The last thing George and Sarah need to worry about right now is money.
Let’s do what we can to support and love this family.
100% of the funds raised will belong to Sarah as the head of household and family caregiver to use at her sole discretion.
Thank you.
