Help Support Sandy With Medical Expenses

I am writing this on behalf of my mom, Sandy Watson, a 62 year old mother of three boys, grandmother of many, and teacher/mentor to countless others.  Once a very active person, always involved in activities and being social, due to severe Osteoarthritis in both knees, she is now unable to get around without the assistance of a wheelchair.   She is desperate to regain her independence and ability to be an active individual again.  Knee replacement surgery is the obvious answer to her dilemma.  However, due to a congenital condition of being born with only one kidney, that which is usually a simple surgery, is not possible.  Her congenital condition places her as a very high risk candidate for surgery.  The search for alternatives to knee replacement surgery has been long and arduous. After looking in to many different courses of action, the most promising avenue we came upon is stem cell therapy.  A process of which has a 96% success rate.  Being a fairly new procedure, this is not something that is covered by standard medical insurance.  This procedure has the potential to greatly improve the life of my mom and allow her to resume the active lifestyle she once enjoyed.
My mom unexpectedly lost her husband, my father, to a battle with ALS a little less than 4 years ago.  He was the major financial contributor in our household.  This, coupled with her inability to work, due to essentially not being mobile, has placed her in quite a financial strain.  The money she receives from Social Security benefits barely covers her day to day expenses, much less a surgery.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and any assistance you can offer towards helping my mom to afford this life changing stem cell therapy would be greatly appreciated.
