We want to share an important story about Sandy Seewalt, who means so much to many of us.
Over 2 weeks ago, on April 9th, Sandy was rushed to the hospital with severe breathing problems. She collapsed in the emergency room and, after having a cardiac arrest, was admitted to the ICU. She was put in an induced coma and put on a ventilator as she was unable to breathe; she was fighting for her life.
Over the next six days, while in the Grande Prairie hospital, they tried different procedures to no avail. On April 12th, Sandy had her third cardiac arrest. After consultation with a respiratory specialist in Edmonton, they made some changes to her treatment plan, and if she didn’t respond well, they would be transporting her to Edmonton.
On April 15th, she was flown to Edmonton, where she remains in the ICU. This past week, she has woken up and is responding to treatment. The doctors say it’s going to be a slow recovery, and it is uncertain when she will be able to come home.i
Sandy is working to regain essential life skills, including speaking, eating, and regaining movement throughout her body.
If you’ve ever met Sandy, you know she is a loving, giving person with a huge heart who would do anything for anyone. I know, she has been there for many people, including me and my family, and now she needs us.
Sandy’s journey to recovery will be long and challenging. Every donation will make a difference, Sandy needs to focus on her healing. She is facing the toughest chapter of her life, but with our love, generosity, and support, we truly believe she will make a full recovery.
