Help Support Ryan's Heart Attack Recovery
Donation protected
On August 8th, while still freshly grieving the unexpected death of our dad (Dick Kennedy) 16 days prior, my brother suffered a major heart attack while at his monthly work meeting. We are so grateful for his coworkers swift actions that saved his life. They used their training as first responders, performing life saving CPR and utilizing an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to restart his heart. We know it was God's hand that placed the people best equipped to save Ryan’s life around him when he had his heart attack.
Ryan was rushed to the cardiac center at The University of Minnesota, close to his work in Saint Paul, where he was placed on ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation). Ryan was fully sedated on a ventilator for 8 days while on ECMO. During this time we prayed together in the family lounge, supported one another and took shifts of two sitting by Ryan in his ICU room.
Ryan has had multiple life saving procedures since his first day at the U of MN. He is on his second week in the ICU. Although he is now on the road to recovery, we expect him to be in the hospital for a several more weeks. We know the prayer teams called into action from the many church communities our family members belong to are a large reason why Ryan made it through thus far, and we can't thank you enough for praying over Ryan and his family.
I am asking for help as they need both monetary help and continued prayers. I pray we can come together as a community to help lift a small portion of the immense financial stress to Ryan & his family.
We thank you as a family & very much appreciate your gifts.
