Our dear friend Ruben, a cherished presence in Hastings and St Leonards, is currently facing a tough journey. Known for his kindness and his knack for keeping everyone informed about the local music scene, Ruben has always been there for his friends.

In recent months, Ruben has endured significant loss and stress, including the passing of one of his best friends. After undergoing open heart surgery last year, he recently suffered a ischemic stroke and a bleed on the brain,and now, just a few weeks later, another brain bleed has been discovered. He is currently healing in Eastbourne Hospital.

Ruben is also a full-time caretaker for his uncle, and right now, our friend Luke is stepping in to help. However, this support isn’t sustainable long-term, and Ruben needs our help to ease the financial strain.

As Ruben focuses on healing and recovery, it’s crucial that we help lift this burden so he can focus on his health without added stress. We want to see Ruben back in the Hastings group chat, sharing his updates and guiding us to the best bands and events..even if he shows up fashionably late!
