Hello everyone,
My name is JaQueisha Buggs, and I’m creating this GoFundMe with permission and on behalf of my close friend, my sister Kazi.
As many of you may already know, Kazi’s 8-year-old daughter, Royalty Dillard, and two others were victims of a senseless act of gun violence on Sunday night. They had just finished enjoying a family gathering and were preparing to head home when gunshots rang out. As they frantically called out for each other, one by one, everyone responded; except for Royalty.
That moment marked the beginning of a nightmare.
Royalty, despite her young age, is a bright light in every room. She’s full of life, loves to read, talk, dance, and be surrounded by the people who love her most. She’s a joyful, curious soul who didn’t deserve any of this.
Right now, Mom and Dad are doing everything they can to stay strong for Royalty and her siblings. But in the face of trauma and uncertainty, she needs our help.
We’re asking for donations to help cover:
Bills and household expenses
Groceries and daily essentials
Supplies and care for Royalty and her siblings
Transportation to and from Indianapolis
These funds will allow both parents to focus entirely on Royalty's healing without the added stress of financial burden. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference.
Brief Update:
Royalty suffered a gunshot wound to the head, making her recovery long and unexpected process. She has not yet fully woken up, and due to severe tongue swelling, she is scheduled for august 29th to get a trach to help her breathe and a g-tube to provide nutrition.
While brain activity is still unclear, there are hopeful signs as she has been able to squeeze hands and blink. Her next step will be rehab in Indianapolis to help her on the journey back to herself.
Mom and Dad are committed to being by Royalty’s side every step of the way. However, Dad’s job, while supportive, does not offer paid leave, and the family still has other children and household needs at home.
We are asking for your prayers, shares, and financial support to help the family remain together without the heavy burden of bills.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping our family in your prayers. Thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
