Hi, my name is Mayra Ruiz, and I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister-in-law Ninive and my brother Roel.

Ninive is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know. In 2018, she fought and beat breast cancer. Then in 2022, she was diagnosed with a secondary cancer—this time in her stomach. She underwent treatment, had her entire stomach removed, and once again fought through it with incredible courage.

She was in remission, but sadly in January 2024, the cancer returned. Despite more treatment and surgery, her medical team recently shared that there’s nothing more they can do.

Through it all, Ninive continues to smile. She continues to trust in Jehovah and remains a shining example of strength and faith. Roel, my brother, has not left her side. Since the news, he has stepped away from work to care for her full-time.

As you can imagine, the financial strain has been heavy—utility bills, credit card payments, and everyday expenses are adding up fast. If you know Roel and Ninive, you know they never ask for help. But now is the time we can come together to give back to two people who’ve always given so much.

Hola, mi nombre es Mayra Ruiz y estoy creando este GoFundMe en nombre de mi cuñada Ninive y mi hermano Roel.

Ninive es una de las personas más fuertes y valientes que conozco. En el 2018 fue diagnosticada con cáncer de mama y lo venció. Luego, en el 2022, recibió otro diagnóstico devastador: cáncer gástrico, un cáncer secundario. Tuvo que someterse a tratamientos agresivos y a la remoción total de su estómago. Aun así, luchó con valor y logró entrar en remisión.

Lamentablemente, en enero de 2024 el cáncer regresó. A pesar de reiniciar tratamientos y someterse a otra cirugía, recientemente su equipo médico informó que ya no hay más opciones disponibles.

A pesar de todo esto, Ninive sigue sonriendo. Su fe en Jehová permanece firme, y su actitud sigue siendo un ejemplo de fuerza y esperanza. Mi hermano Roel ha estado a su lado en cada paso. Desde que recibieron la noticia, él dejó de trabajar para cuidarla tiempo completo.

Como se imaginarán, la carga económica ha sido muy pesada—los pagos de servicios, tarjetas de crédito y otros gastos básicos se han ido acumulando. Los que conocen a Roel y Ninive saben que son personas nobles y humildes, y que nunca piden ayuda. Pero en este momento, queremos hacer lo posible por apoyarlos.
