Dear people who love Richard,

Our brilliant, beautiful, beloved Rikki needs our help now.

Rikki has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. He essentially has a massive bruise on his brain, which is putting pressure on the frontal and parietal lobes. He had brain surgery over a week ago, and has been in ICU ever since (in a hospital in San Miguel de Allende), and is not progressing as we would hope. This wonderful man who has always been the soul of wit, of humor, of kindness, and of creative community, now lies pale and wordless in a hospital bed.

He has a team of loving friends supporting him, but we are approaching a point where he needs round-the clock nursing and a specialist’s care. Insurance and credit bureaucracies have thrown massive obstacles in our path, and Richard is himself not at this point able to participate in his own decision making process.

So on his behalf we ask that you give, as a way of supporting his healing process. Contributions will, with the exception of GoFundMe fees, go toward medical costs, transportation costs, and expenses related to helping him come back to us as the man we know and love.

He will hear the name of every person who donates to this fund, regardless of the quantity you can afford to share. It is the only tangible way to support him, since we cannot be there physically; a means of expressing your love and blessings. If he has had an impact on your life in any way, please consider making a contribution of any amount. Love has no size.

He cannot currently read emails or receive visitors, but Facebook posts will be read to him, when he is healed enough for the team to do so, as will the names of every contributor.
