During our last home game of the season, our much-loved teammate and friend, Riki Hosoai, was involved in a serious head-on collision on the field which resulted to a fractured skull. Riki, an international soccer player from Japan who has been playing with our Senior Men at George Cross FC, sustained an injury that now requires surgery to insert a metal plate.
As Riki is here on a visa, he isn’t covered by Medicare, leaving him to face significant medical costs on his own.
Riki has given so much of his talent, passion, and heart to our club and community, and now it’s our turn to rally around him. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards supporting his surgery and recovery so he can get back on his feet — and hopefully back on the pitch doing what he loves most.
Please keep Riki in your thoughts and, if you’re able, lend your support to help ease the burden during this difficult time.
On behalf of George Cross FC and Riki, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness.
