Help support Rhiannon After Rob's Sudden Passing

Hello Friends and Family of Rob and Rhiannon Frenz. My name is Chandra Kwayzer and I have been a close friend of both Rob and Rhi for over 33 years; they are my family. Rhiannon needs our help due to losing Rob unexpectedly on October 11. I’d like to share a little background with Rhiannon’s permission about the current situation she is in after the passing of her husband, our friend.

In January of this year, Rhiannon was informed she has neuroendocrine lung cancer stage 1. Throughout the course of this year, she has sought treatment with countless specialists which unfortunately resulted in a failed surgery attempt in June due to other health complications. Around this time in March, Rob was laid off due to company cutbacks, and unfortunately, Rob was denied unemployment and some insurance benefits which halted Rhiannon’s treatment. Rob had just started a new job when he suffered a heart attack on Thursday, October 2nd- which was only a couple weeks into his new position. Rob had a quadruple bypass on Tuesday, October 7th and was in the ICU until Saturday, October 11. At that time, Rob was discharged, he was told his recovery was going well and was in good spirits. Rob was brought home at 4 pm that Saturday and was able to walk back and forth to the restroom, talk to some friends and family, take a nap, watch the Cubs game and post on social media some thank yous for helping him while hospitalized. At 9:10 pm, Rhiannon had left the room and heard a thud where she came in to find Rob had fallen out of his chair and onto the floor clutching his hands into fists. Rhiannon didn’t feel a pulse, called 911, tried to resuscitate him on her own, but due to her lung capacity needed a neighbor to help with breathing and chest compressions. Once the paramedics arrived, they continued to administer CPR and medications to revive him. Rob was taken to the Emergency Room where they continued CPR and other medical necessities for an hour, but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at 10:29 pm. Rhiannon, Rob’s parents and my parents were able to be with him at the hospital until the end. My biggest regret is being away on a school trip to Washington, DC and not being able to be there to support my friends and say my final goodbye to Rob.

Rob was Rhiannon’s everything and he was also the main income provider for their little family. She is devastated by Rob’s passing and exceptionally overwhelmed by finances, hospital expenses, funeral expenses and basic necessities for living.

If you knew Rob or Rhiannon, they would give you the shirt off their back, a good story to cheer you up, or buy you a beer and just talk. They need some help now. Please consider donating to Rhiannon to help her navigate the most difficult trying time anyone could possibly go through. Rob and Rhiannon were very proud and it is incredibly difficult to ask for help, so I am asking on behalf of Rob and Rhiannon, as Rob would want to make sure his wife was supported by our friends and family on all levels. They both provided everyone with so much love and friendship that even the smallest amount given will help in the long run to take care of our girl in her time of need. Thank you for considering!

Service information will be sent out soon.
