Help Support Raegan's Surgery and Recovery Journey!

I'm sharing this because its personal, and it means a lot to me. My little sister Raegan is 18 and finishing up her sophomore year at SUNY Potsdam. Next week, she'll undergo a major surgery to remove her large intestine. A total colectomy will be done and she will need a temporary ostomy (colostomy bag) for several months while she heals. This is life changing and watching her face this with so much strength has been inspiring.

Raegan and I both have a rare hereditary condition called FAP (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis) passed down from our father's side of the family. Surgery is one of the only ways to prevent it from turning into cancer. She's been through years of biopsies, scopes, removal of and "keeping an eye on" the thousands of polyps and now the time has come to take the next big step. Three years ago I experienced all of this. The same choices, decisions, and emotions.

Raegan usually earns money doing DoorDash and Instacart, but she wont be able to work for 6-8 weeks or more. She wont even be able to lift a gallon of milk. Recovery will be hard and while she's planning to continue with online summer classes, she'll need support in more ways than one.

This fundraiser will help with travel and hotel costs while she's in the hospital, also meals and essentials during her recovery, medical supplies not covered by insurance and a bit of help while she's unable to work. But its not just about donations. Prayers, messages, cards and just sending good energy her way would mean the world. I remember how much those things helped me and I know they'll mean everything to her to!
