Help support Quest’s medical journey.

Quest has an extremely rare intestinal disease called Hypoganglionosis. This means he has scattered to very few ganglion cells in his intestines. Ganglion cells trigger the muscles in the intestines to contract and relax, which moves digested food through the intestines. This process is called peristalsis and results in defecation. Because Quest has very few, the stool just builds up. He has a moderately redundant colon which means his colon is abnormally long, it twists and folds in on itself. His anal sphincter has slow motility; making it difficult to “push it out”. He is on daily laxatives and has to have twice daily anal irritations. Also having to go to the hospital for clean-outs after not defecating after a week. We are now being told he will possibly need surgery to remove most of the colon and given a colostomy.
We are awaiting the results of his motility study.

This has been a very stressful time for Quest's parents. He has to go out of town for treatment for days at a time. Which leads to lost wages. Unexpected medical episodes end in days lost at work, and bills, for diagnostic procedures not covered by insurance. Your donations will support Quest and his parents during this crucial time in Quests life. It will be a lifetime of doctors and hospital visits for Quest. Any and all donations are gratefully accepted. A heartfelt thank you.
