If you know anything about me, you know that I love Purry and Cassie more than anything in the world. I have loved Purry since 2018 when I met her at an old roommate's house and she chose me to love her and has not left my side since then.
Over the past few weeks, Purry started behaving weird and spending 22-23 hours per day sitting on my bathroom counter. She was still eating a little, drinking normally, and more than happy to slap Cassie in the face for getting too close, but would not leave the bathroom counter no matter how many times I moved her or tried to get her out of the bathroom. Initially I thought this was because I went out of town for 10 days and she was just sour about it, but then after 2 weeks I knew something was wrong.
We visited our regular vet this morning, and they immediately noticed that she was very pale and that she'd lost ~20% of her bodyweight since they saw her in January. We ran labs in their office and they said she needed to go to the emergency vet hospital immediately for an ultrasound to check for infection or internal bleeding. When we arrived at the emergency vet, they took her into the ICU because she was borderline critical condition, and needed care quickly. After an ultrasound and a biopsy of their findings, the emergency vet called me to tell me Purry has multiple inoperable lymphoma tumors along her intestines that are making her very sick. They've started her on steroids and antibiotics and I will need to meet with a veterinary oncologist to find out how we can move forward.
I've always retained a savings account for the cats to pay for their vet visits, but this is far beyond what we've ever had to try to take care before, and not something I can handle on my own after going through all the medical bills associated with my own negative cancer diagnosis process over the past 3+ months. As much as I hate asking for help, I need some help to try to save my sweet little angel kitty.
I love Purry more than anything. I have fought to keep Purry with me through 3 moves. I worked non-stop through 2020 + 2021 to save up enough to buy her a house to have her very own space for the first time in her entire life, our condo that I refer to as "CatHouse" because it's hers more than mine. I've spent all day thinking about all her little quirks like how she loves cheeseburgers and that she saw how I like when Cassie gives me kisses so she started giving the tiniest softest kisses on my hands when I pet her and that she loves to watch TV and that even today she was giving the doctor and nurses at the emergency vet a lot of grief because she's a sassy little fighter.
If you have ever enjoyed one of my hundreds of posts about Purry and her funny little attitude or received one of her Christmas cards or had to suffer through me giving you a very detailed update on how my cats are doing, please help me support Purry so hopefully she can get through this and we can enjoy more of her golden years.
All funds donated will be put towards her medical care and bills from our vet's office and the emergency vet.
I will continue to post more updates here as we move forward with Purry's care plan, thanks for any support and/or shares of this fundraiser to help take care of her.
