On Sunday December 13th 2020, Pierce and his girlfriend, Collinda, were involved in a serious hit and run at the intersection of 37st & 13 Ave SW in Calgary, Alberta.

Pierce was rushed to the hospital with severe life-threatening injuries; including severe spinal cord injuries and head traumas, broken ribs, a punctured lung and a broken femur. The next 48 hours Pierce endured two emergency surgeries to start repairs on his broken neck vertebrae. For the next 6 weeks, Pierce was kept in a medically induced coma to give his body a chance to recover from the severity of his injuries, he suffered significant brain swelling due to the impact of the accident.

Pierce is currently still fitted with a breathing tube, but is able to open his eyes and follow any activity around the room. He has physio three times a day in an attempt to regain some strength in his lungs, arms and hands. His lower body is still in traction due to the injuries sustained.

Collinda suffered a broken leg, hip and pelvis which required surgery - she is currently recovering at home with her parents and has given up her visiting spot so that Pierce's parents, who are visiting internationally, can be at his side.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to relieve Pierce and his family of any financial burdens and give them some financial assistance for the long uphill battle of recovery ahead.

No charges have currently been laid against the person(s) at fault.
