Hello, my name is Tony. I recently found out that my puppy has parvovirus (or parvo), which is a highly contagious viral illness with a high fatality rate. He had to be hospitalized, with the vet saying there is hope for him, but I cannot afford the vet bills that would save his life.

My dog’s name is Pete, and he was a stray that my father found at his workplace. He was found inside a storage unit and we decided to take him in after no one claimed him. He has been such a huge impact on me and I cannot imagine myself without that sweet dog… I can’t stand to see him in pain. I live paycheck to paycheck and the thought of losing Pete tears me apart.

The treatment focuses on supportive care, making sure that he has medication, nutritional support, and enough IV fluids so that his immune system can help fight off the parvovirus. With this, he would have such a greater chance of surviving.

Pete means the world to me and I want to give him the chance at life that he deserves. He is such an energetic and healthy puppy, seeing him like this is horrible… I’m incredibly heartbroken and I just want him to be okay.
