Help Support Paul & Carrie Gorst in Their Fight Against ALS

Dear Friends,
We are rallying around a beloved couple—Paul and Carrie Gorst—as they walk through one of life’s most difficult journeys with incredible courage and unshakable faith.

In August, Paul was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), a progressive neurological condition that has drastically changed the course of their lives. Paul, once able to work and care for his family, now faces daily physical challenges that require increasing support and care.

For Paul, one of the hardest parts of this journey has been the loss of his ability to work. He has always been a faithful, hard-working provider—someone who took pride in caring for his family. The progression of ALS has made it impossible for him to continue doing what he loves and what he’s always done: work with his hands, contribute, and provide. This loss has been deeply felt—not just financially, but emotionally—as he longs to support his wife, Carrie, and his daughter, Sarah.

As Paul’s condition has progressed, Carrie has stepped up in every possible way—caring for him at home, continuing to work full-time to pay their household bills, and managing the ever-growing weight of medical expenses. On top of this, she remains a devoted mom to their daughter, Sarah, who is attending college and living at home.

Through it all, Paul and Carrie have remained steadfast in their faith in the goodness of God. Even in the midst of uncertainty and pain, they continue to trust Him day by day—leaning on His promises, and finding strength in their hope and community. Their lives are a living testimony to God’s sustaining grace in even the darkest valleys.

We created this GoFundMe to surround them with love and tangible support. Your donation—no matter the size—will help ease the financial strain and allow them to focus on what truly matters: care, comfort, and time together.

Funds raised will go directly toward essential needs such as acquiring an electric wheelchair for Paul, making their bathroom handicap accessible, and catching up on past due medical bills. These upgrades are not luxuries—they are critical to helping Paul live with dignity, safety, and as much independence as possible.

Please consider giving, sharing this page with others, and lifting Paul, Carrie, and Sarah in prayer. Every gift makes a difference, and every prayer matters.

Thank you for standing with this precious family in faith, love, and generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Robyn Monroe, Friend of the Gorst Family
