Help Support Pat's Leukemia AML Battle
Donation protected
Hello and welcome to Team Pat! Pat was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). AML is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow which progresses rapidly, with myeloid cells interfering with the production of normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Symptoms include fatigue, recurrent infections, and bruising easily.
Shortly after the diagnosis, Pat’s life suddenly turned upside down. Treatment of AML varies from person to person, with a typical induction phase of heavy chemotherapy for a couple of months to knock out the cancer. To date Pat has endured three lengthy chemotherapy treatments at Lutheran General, while maintaining a positive attitude as he found himself alone in the hospital in the mist of a global pandemic. Inevitably, Pat will need a Bone Marrow Transplant. The good news is that a perfect match may have been found with his sister Rose (our little hero).
Pat is remaining positive and optimistic, and looking forward to kicking AML’s butt!
His humor, smile, compassion, and determination are infectious. He cares deeply for others, putting his focus on living life with passion and purpose. He is absolutely a person you want to be around and enjoy life with. The one you can count on when you need a laugh, a hug or support. It is easy to be engulfed by his fun-caring nature that he has for his family and close friends. His strength is our strength.
Though we have faith that Pat can and will win this battle, it will still be extremely difficult on him and his loved ones. There has been a flood of outreach to the Allegrini family asking how to best provide support. As you can imagine, with Pat’s leave from work, large medical expenses can easily pile up and become a financial burden.
If possible, please consider contributing financially to provide a bit of reassurance so he may concentrate on health. Any amount is helpful and will also help him feel less alone during this crisis. Funds raised during this campaign will be used for medical bills and other unexpected expenses that may arise.
Thank you in advance and God Bless
