Help Support Patience’s Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Syda Afa, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Patience Morris, who was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer in 2023.
What began as a hopeful surgery to remove a benign tumor turned out to be something far more devastating. Patience underwent a liver resection, and her surgeon later discovered it was stage four cancer. Although they removed what they could, just a few months later in 2024, she was re-diagnosed — this time, the cancer had spread to other parts of her abdomen via her lymph nodes.
A biopsy in fall 2024 confirmed that Patience has stage four fibrolamellar carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of liver cancer. In November, she began an intense chemotherapy regimen that caused her to lose her hair, only to find out the treatment wasn’t effective for her cancer type. She is now undergoing a combination of chemotherapy pills and immunotherapy in hopes of better results.
The past few years have been incredibly hard. Patience was first diagnosed during her freshman year of college — over 1,600 miles away from home. After her re-diagnosis in the summer, she had to leave home again and move back to Florida for continued treatment when her local hospital was no longer able to provide care.
On top of the emotional and physical toll, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Even with insurance, Patience is responsible for most of the costs — including treatments, scans, medications, and travel — with some help from family and friends. The bills have now reached a point where she is in urgent need of support.
We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to ease the financial stress caused by rising medical bills and lost income from time away from work. Every donation — no matter the size — makes a real difference. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign to help spread the word.
Thank you for reading Patience’s story. Your support, prayers, and generosity mean the world to her and to all of us who love her. In two months, she will undergo another scan to determine if her new treatment is working. Until then, we hold onto hope — and we’re grateful for any help you can give.
