Hello, my name is Kenny and I have a passion for paintball history! I am fundraising to create a non profit organization that will preserve and share paintball history. This organization will grow and continue on for generations, showcasing the past of our great sport of paintball! This is the first of three phases to achieve our goal of creating a portable paintball museum that will travel around the country sharing paintball equipment, stories and history at events.
Phase 1
The creation of the organization
The first $4000 will go to setting up the non profit organization. This creates a Board of Directors that will be made up of several individuals that are equally passionate about preserving our history. Becoming the non profit organization opens up opportunities for fundraising, sponsorships, Corporate donations, and applying for numerous grants.
Phase 2
Building the portable museum
Putting together the portable paintball museum is a task that we are up for! We have an extensive collection of paintball items already available for display. We just have to create an environment that showcases these items to tell the story to you the paintball player. We will be putting this inside a very large enclosed trailer and will have 200+ paintball markers mounted securely to walls with information mounted next to them. Also will have lighted display cabinets showing smaller items with information mounted near them to explain their significance. All of the items will be in a climate controlled, well illuminated, and secure trailer with minimal set up time! The estimated cost for the trailer and build out is $60,000.
Phase 3
Lets hit the road
Last step is to hit the open road and set up at a paintball event near you! To reduce overhead we will have the trailer transported to events by trucking companies. Planning a route that makes sense so we do not have to back track getting to as many events as possible in the United States in a season. When the trailer arrives at an event it will be met by local paintball ambassadors that will set up the museum and watch over and explain exhibits to people. At the end of the event they will secure and prepare the trailer to travel to the next event! The estimated cost for insurance and tucking cost is $50,000 per year.
Closing thoughts
Overall this is a monumental task to accomplish. However one step at a time, and lots of work and time on the Boards of Directors of the organization it can be done! If we don’t do now or make it happen who will? With Grants, donations, and fundraising we can make this dream a reality! We are at a point we’re the people that have created the sport we all love today are passing on and the stories, ideas, struggles and inventions could be lost.
