Help Support Venustiano “Pacheco” Pacheco with Medical Care

Dear friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out on behalf of Venustiano Pacheco—known to everyone simply as “Pacheco.” He is 80 years old and has lived in Belize for about 30 years after coming here from Mexico. Pacheco is a humble man with almost no worldly possessions. He has no land, no house of his own, and no family here in Belize.

As a young man, he was married for 9 years, but tragically, his wife passed away, and he never remarried or had children. His life’s work has been as a skilled mason, and he has always traveled to jobs on his bicycle since he has never owned a vehicle. Around 12 years ago, he lost his right eye in a work-related accident, and this affects his balance.

Recently, Pacheco’s life took a difficult turn. While biking to visit one of the few families who have supported him, he was found gasping for breath along the road. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and remained for several weeks. During that time, doctors also discovered that he has an enlarged heart.

Pacheco is now home from the hospital, but he requires 24/7 care, as he struggles to walk and care for himself. One family has lovingly taken him in, but they already have three children under the age of 8. Both parents work, and while the wife is considering leaving her job to care for Pacheco, their family depends on both incomes. Friends are doing what we can to help, but everyone is stretched thin and cannot provide the steady support that is needed.

We are asking for your help to make it possible for this family to continue caring for Pacheco with dignity and compassion. Your contributions will go directly toward his daily care, medical needs, and basic living expenses.
